OUR MISSION
In October 2011, BRBVA established a cooperative agreement with BREC and promptly commenced construction of the $5 million Team Automotive Group Sportsplex. The facility officially opened its doors in July 2012. Featuring multiple competitive indoor courts, the Sportsplex is designed to accommodate a wide range of athletic activities and events.
BRBVA has three over-arching goals for the facility:
Director Biographies
Executive Director
Jonathan Pixley serves as the Executive Director of Team Sportsplex, overseeing the daily operations to ensure the facility runs efficiently and effectively. Originally appointed as Director of Basketball when the gym opened in 2012, Jonathan recently transitioned into his current leadership role. In addition to his executive duties, he continues to train college and professional basketball players at the facility.
A graduate of Catholic High School in Baton Rouge (Class of 1992), Jonathan was a distinguished basketball player, earning all-district, all-metro, and all-state honors. In recognition of his outstanding contributions, he was inducted into the Grizzly Greats Athletic Hall of Fame in 2016. He went on to earn a Division I scholarship to Samford University in Birmingham, Alabama, where he was a three-time All-Conference performer and set multiple school and conference records.
After a career-ending knee injury during the NBA Summer League following his senior year, Jonathan returned to Baton Rouge and embarked on a successful coaching career. From 2001 to 2021, he served as the head basketball coach at The Dunham School, compiling over 450 career wins, 8 district titles, and 8 District Coach of the Year awards. His teams competed in five consecutive state championship games from 2017 to 2021, securing three state titles during that span. In 2021, his final season as head coach, Jonathan was named Louisiana 2A State Coach of the Year.
Donna Pixley serves as the Director of Volleyball at Team Sportsplex and has also held the position of Director of Operations for several years. She oversees all volleyball programming, including camps, clinics, private and group lessons, and serves as the Club Director of Red Storm Volleyball. Donna is widely recognized as one of the most influential figures in the history of volleyball in Louisiana.
Originally from Tampa, Florida, Donna was a standout volleyball and basketball athlete at Tampa Preparatory School. She continued her athletic career at Samford University in Birmingham, Alabama, where she was a four-year starting setter. Graduating as the school’s all-time leader in assists with over 4,000 career assists, she was also a three-time All-Academic All-Conference honoree and a member of several national honor societies.
Before joining Team Sportsplex full-time in May 2015, Donna served as the Athletic Director at The Dunham School for four years and was the head volleyball coach there for 21 seasons. Her leadership guided the 2004 team to a state runner-up finish and the 2005 team to a Division V state championship. In 2022, her team won the Division III state title, setting a school record for victories while competing against the toughest schedule in the state. Under her tenure, every team qualified for the state playoffs. Donna earned six District Coach of the Year awards, two Metro Coach of the Year honors, and two State Coach of the Year titles. She also had the privilege of coaching the West All-Star team in 2006 and 2022. Donna will begin her first season as head volleyball coach at St. Joseph’s Academy in August 2025.
Donna’s impact extends to club volleyball, where she has been active in Louisiana since 1998. In 2002, she coached a 15 & under team to a USAV National Championship for Volleyball Baton Rouge, making her one of only three coaches in Louisiana history to win both state and national titles. In 2004, she founded Red Storm Volleyball with a single team. Since then, the club has grown to 21 teams and proudly utilizes Team Sportsplex for practices and tournaments. Highlights include a 5th-place national finish for her 18u team in 2019 and the club’s most successful season to date in 2022, with seven teams ranking in the top 10 nationally in the club division.
Chase Stanley serves as the Director of Basketball at Team Sportsplex, overseeing all basketball programming and supporting daily operations alongside Jonathan Pixley. Since his appointment as Director of Basketball in 2023, Chase has played a key role in shaping the facility’s basketball initiatives. Prior to this role, he contributed significantly to fundraising efforts for the Baton Rouge Basketball and Volleyball Association and assisted with basketball programming at Team Sportsplex.
In addition to his role at Team Sportsplex, Chase is the Director of Red Storm Basketball, an AAU travel basketball organization originally founded by Jonathan Pixley in 2005. Since revitalizing the program in 2018, Chase has overseen its growth from 4 teams (grades 5th–8th) to 11 teams spanning grades 4th through 11th as of 2025.
Chase’s basketball journey began at University Laboratory School in Baton Rouge, where he earned all-district, all-metro, and all-state honors. During his senior year, he led the state in scoring with an average of 27.3 points per game and set a school record with 47 points in a game against 6A Allatoona High School in Georgia. Following high school, Chase accepted a Division I basketball scholarship to Southern University, playing under Coach Roman Banks. He transitioned from playing to coaching and program management when he joined Jonathan and Donna Pixley to help run Team Sportsplex upon its opening in August 2012.
